Title: Looking at parts

While I'm kind of stuck right now on my restoration project, I've been shopping around for parts. I noticed that the fans for Aqua-Therms are quite a bit higher than the other owb brands. What is the reason for this? Could I use a fan for another boiler? Also, can an air scoop go bad?

stick with the factory parts…The fan is a fasco..Get the model number off the fan and then google it or go on ebay..  The Model # (which you will see) could be a new number but same fan..Are you getting those prices off of the Aqua-therm web page for being higher?..Id buy a new air scoop..you can buy them anywhere..

Factory and a couple other sites. The fan currently attached is a Dayton, I'll have to clean it up to find numbers. What could go wrong with the old air scoop? Is there rubber pieces or something that could deteriorate over time? It's not an expensive piece, I just don't know anything about it.

Probably nothing could go wrong..Its just a piece of mind that everything is new

That's true. The current fan is a Dayton 4C440. It's in the neighborhood between 50-60 cfm that I can tell from various websites. Would it hurt to move up to a 75-100 cfm fan?

I would probably stick with around stock cfms..I wouldn't go below stock cfm's..The new fan that replaces the original one might have a higher cfm already..
