Title: EPA hangtags
Post by: mlappin on February 16, 2014, 08:19:24 PM
So how accurate are the hangtags? I can see the particulates being easy enough to measure, but how about the efficiency ratings?

I've looked at a lot of websites, the ones that don't boast of insanely high efficiency ratings will have a picture of the hang tag on the stove while another that claims high ninety's for efficiency is phase 2, but not a closeup of the tag anywhere on their site to see what the EPA claims.

Does particulate output correspond whatsoever with efficiency? I would think to an extent they'd have to.

The tags are a big rosey joke

I've saw the same model stove one with an epa tag of 90.9, turn around and be 69.7 the next run,  you can guess which one was actually a good quality test

Here is another place that Scott and I will agree, the tests are a joke, it's impressive to watch, I have been there through the entire test, I know they can and are manipulated and certainly do not test to real world specs.

More or less to make the greenies happy that the EPA is doing something to curb global warming?

EXACTLY, it is also a money making scam for test facilities as well as an opportunity for back door payoffs to those in power.

I wondered as well if maybe a few companies that donated to the right party might all of a sudden have units that tested better or a failed design all of a sudden pass when retested.

Don't laugh folks, not just the current administration but the government has gotten more corrupt and out of control the last few decades.

I think that all started when ole honest Abe fought a civil war and took away each individual states rights. Look up documents prior to the civil war and they referred to our nation as These United States' 2 letters make a lot of difference!
