Title: Crown Royal boilers?

Hey guys, new to the forum here.  I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Crown Royal boilers.  Nearly everyone around me has Central Boilers, but after spending alot of time on this site, I'm not sure that is the one to go with.  I feel like the more I look, the less sure I get on any of them!  I was kind of looking at the indoor 7300 to put in our attached garage for a couple of reasons, one being I wouldn't have to run expensive insulated pipe, and two the residual heat would help heat the garage.  The dealer I talked to though didn't like this idea so much.  I'm all new to this so I might be way off base!  If anyone out there has had a boiler for longer than 7-8 years with few problems, I'd like to know!

From my experience they've had there fair share of issues in the past

But I wouldn't put the boiler inside if I didn't have to, worried about the expensive pipe?  Just sit it close to the building unless it's just a shed type

I have a woodmaster outdoor furnace. I've had it for 12 years now. Had real good luck with it. Had to put a new draft fan in the door about four years ago. Really like this furnace. Would buy another one.

yeah dont put it inside...I did and will be putting outside next year. Heres why...yes you do get residual heat and loading inside sounds nice when its cold out but I still have to go outside to bring the wood in..I stack about 5 days worth inside. beside the fact that it takes up alot of space the garage gts smokey when filling and there is a covering of soot on everthing in the garage... not to mention the sparks flying around it makes me nervous. keep it outside.

Yeah, that sounds like the consensus, don't put it inside!  Chillyhiker, how do you like your Ridgewood?

Not the biggest deal breaker or anything, but talk to insurance agent and see difference between indoor and outdoor boiler.  Made a huge difference for the old man

Plus, the mess (bark adn sawdust) all stay outside, plus a couple of time a day you get some fresh air  :thumbup:
