Title: New OWB owner
Post by: glock_556 on March 07, 2014, 01:45:01 PM
Hello

After lots of reading and info gathering, I purchased and had installed an Earth Woodsman 405.

I've been using it for almost 3 weeks now and I really like it a lot, so far anyway

Lots of good info on this site!!

Welcome to the site, Glock_556.  Many smart people on this site who are willing to share their knowledge with anyone who asks.  Don't rude, the next time you see the oil/propane guy drive your home, don't be afraid to wave.  Roger

I checked out your unit looks like a nice designed one. Funny thing about waving to the propane truck, we had to call the gas company to inform them not to estimate our bill, that zero usage was correct. They probably thought that to be impossible when -20 and -30 degree during the billing cycle. We informed about the stove and that the natural gas furnace was off. They gave us a two month credit and now we are back to $10 bills which is essentially just the service charge.

I like it a lot.  It's nice not hearing the oil burner running.  That would have killed me this year.  In the past years, when the temps weren't as cold as this year I paid over $5,100.00 for fuel oil.  This is my 3rd season with the OWB and I haven't had any oil delivered since.  I may have them add a bit to the tank this spring cause I use oil in the summer to heat my DHW.  Somehow the inspection sticker on the fill tube for the fuel oil came up missing ( :-\) so they can't deliver if they wanted to.  Even when I called to cancel the auto fill, they still would show up and fill it up.  As long as the inspection sticker is missing...  ;D  Roger
