For the gassifier guys. What does everyone do with all the short pieces and chunks ? I just finished cutting and splitting 12 chords
and have a large pile of stuff under 12" long. Can this still be burned in a gassifier ? Thanks I am new to the game.

Yes it can, try to not allow for lots of airspace between the chunks and don,t overload the stove and you will be fine.

Work best in shoulder season, when load are relitively light compared to when snow is 4' deep. Just remember, its wood, it will burn, so it will work; now how well it works in a different question ;D

I put those nuisance pieces in the OWB (gasser) during the normal burning season. After I'm satisfied with what I have in the OWB to last 12 hours, I add a couple of them to the top of the heap. That works best for me. In another forum someone referred to those pieces as unstackables. I love that term. Roger

Good post Roger, I was thinking the same thing.

Depending on exact geological location, I am also available for disposable of Unstackable, Short, Chunks, etc. Just make sure that they are all wood oy wood by-product

I basically just burn the uglies left over from selling wood. No issues in my 250.

Thanks guys I will stack them on a pallet for next winter !!!!!!!

That is a good term "unstackables"

I used to put all those " unstackables " into the sugar shack for spring burning in the evaporator, that's a straight burn as hard as you can fire, as opposed to handling them for the wood stoves. Now with an OWB on the way I have been tossing them on to the very top of each row in the shed, figure on a cold winter's night with the wind howling they do just fine.
