May 1st and it might make it up to 50 today, mid thirtys at night.
-
Brian told me it was snowing at his place when I spoke to him last night
-
I really didn't think I'd see the time when I'm entering my 8th month of heating my house. Thankfully, I can count on the OWB to get me through this, not the oil burner. But, the long range forecast looks like I won't have to count on it much longer (I hope). My tally is a bit over 8 cord this heating season. That's not too bad for an old house in northern New England. Roger

I didn't start mine till the first week of November last year. Still going now though. The hired man said far as he can remember this is the longest he's had his still going in the spring. Once this last bit of wood is gone it's going out. May 1st and the trees are still naked here.
-
Thank GOD and Brian that I have a chip burner, I shudder to think how much firewood I would have had to process if I were still heating with my old smoke dragon, I'm going to fire my optimizer 250 today and plug it into the house and shop for a test run before the Essex Jct. Vt. show next week.
-
While you're at it you better blow the dust off the old dragon because mother not going to let you go to Vermont without some kind of heat
-
Already done. mum wants to know if you are stopping by on the way so she can feed you and maybe pick your brain about the dutch oven. what do you think we should cook at the show anyway, I vote for the cornbread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That sounds good, can't wait to cook something in my boiler.

Awesome, farmboythegreat, who wants to be the one to PM this to Neal so he doesn't miss it.
-
Wasn't that long ago we had what seemed like a year without a summer. Cooler temps all summer and rain, I think most of the summer it barely got into the low 80's which made haymaking a losing proposition.

Do I get to highlight my favorites?!?!?! I'm gonna anyhow hehehe.
For most in America, Europe, and Asia, the winter of 1815-1816 was the coldest in living memory.
Who in the sam hell has been alive since 1815? Come on!
My prediction of a “year without summer” is based partly on the record of 1816 and other years of increased volcanic activity.
2008, a very warm year had massive volcanic activity. What was his prediction then. ::)
This prediction is backed up by the National Weather Bureau and other sources that predict an extended period of cold in the northeast and upper Midwest.

Compare the below average (small blue pocket) with the orange that covers the entire south of the country, ;D
Instead of expanding free markets, the Obama administration has done all it can to suppress the primate sector and squander wealth, thus leaving the country vulnerable to the economic shock of weather events such as the current near-record cold.
Obama has done nothing but give money to corporations, at times even more efficiently than free markets. Obama has done no such thing as suppress the (I assume the typo is private...) private sector. Hell what does he think Obama care is, other than a giant money grab for medical insurance companies. :bash:
How can anyone take this fruit loop seriously...

He is taking it from you and me and giving it to the wealthy, and corporations. He is no different in that respect that Bush.

Gotta be Bush's fault, I didn't vote for either of the theives

Certainly he carries some blame, as does Obama. Neither of them is a successful president IMO.
Neither did I.

I have to agree with Neal on the volcano aspect. Record number of eighty-two eruptions last year. Reminds me of the summer after Mt. Saint Helen, very cold.

Um I think Neil was against the volcano idea.

"They" have already done that Slim,,,,
One major volcanic eruption lasting 4 weeks has been deemed equivalent to 4,562,555,626 cow farts with 2004 average cow flatulent methane expulsions. ::)
