Title: Water heaters?
Post by: gainerspot on May 26, 2014, 12:39:26 PM
Is there much difference between the different brands of plate heat exchanges?

gainer,

Some plate exchangers have a life time warranty. Some are stainless with brazed copper joints and edges. Some made in USA and some not. Be sure and get a good one and the correct size for your project.

Well Its just going to be me and the wife at the house most the time, but I am only 33 and that may change someday if we have young-en's.  When I look on different websites some have very limited information.  So where does one turn to when he cant find the info he is looking for.....................  OWFI that where.

Gainer,

Have you asked your Dealer? I do the Shaver Furnaces and the DHW exchanger is in the Outdoor Furnace. I do not know how P&M does theirs right off, but I think a side arm or a plate exchanger.

I normally do a sidearm, It looks nicer and works very well if properly done. I raised 2 children (threw them out of the nest a couple of years ago) and we never had problems with hot water, believe me, my wife would not have dealt with cold showers well.
