Like a lot of other people here, I am getting sick of the spam. Since this place has been abandoned by the owner, I registered www.outdoorboilerforums.com (http://www.outdoorboilerforums.com) and started setting it up. I am hoping to make it what this forum should have been.
I never used forum software before but it seems fairly easy. I could use help getting it going. If you are interested in checking it out, register and post suggestions.

I'm with you for sure. Enough is enough.

Good idea, I am glad you have the ability to do this. Good luck, I am with you.

I'm with you Brother!

It's a shame, lots of good info in old posts that won't be able to be transferred to the new site.
I've had some experience with both being a moderator on a web site and actually admin experience as well. I'll volunteer my limited expertise if you so desire.
One last thing, and I was going to suggest it here but no point without a active admin, but we need a Shout Box. On another site I belong to you just type in a quick blurb and hit enter instead of starting a new thread. "Beautiful day here, cut two loads of wood, split and stacked" or something similar is what's normally posted, think like texting on a website. It gets a ton of use. Here's a link to the site I help moderate with the shout box, http://www.haytalk.com/forums/ (http://www.haytalk.com/forums/)

Nice job , I won't miss the spam one bit. And no worries about old info either, the new info will be just as good or better without the hassle
-
I'm headin' that way now. Thanks for doing this. Roger
-
Thanks RSI. I just activated my account.

Give it a try now. I just activated it for you.

Is there a way to save the information that is within this site as an archive? There is a HUGE amount of GREAT information that would be a shame to loose.
-
I am not sure if it could be done but it would probably violate copyright laws. I think anyone can copy their own posts over manually but I think if anyone else does it, it would have to be approved by the owner of this site.

I'm in,

done.

Thanks for doing this RSI, is there a way for people to view as they do here without signing up, if so,how about a business card that those of us who do this for a living can hand out to potential customers to help them educate themselves early on in their process

I must have missed something. How do I get to the new site? Sorry I went back and found it.
-
Bump.
-
I tried to install like buttons and it looks like I broke something good. I will try to get it back but I think I really screwed something up.
-
I think I got it all back and working now. If anyone has trouble with anything, let me know.
-
All you need to do is link to this site for archived info. Most of the pic links are dead anyhow.
In reality the lack of admin and moderators is a serious flaw. I had mentioned in an earlier post that opening a new site would be the best coarse of action.
-
If anyone registered and is still waiting for the activation email, just log in to the forum. I activated all pending users.
Send me a message over there if you never received the email. I am trying to find out why they weren't received.
-
If you register and don't get the activation email, send an email to admin@outdoorboilerforums.com
-
bump

It looks like there is some verification required for the domain name. I had never seen that before. It should be fixed soon. I have a support ticket in with my web host now.
I think I saw you in the list that had never clicked the verification in the email. I will activate your account. You should be able to just login when it is back.
