Title: cast iron radiators
Post by: chiselchain on July 26, 2014, 08:04:29 AM
im thinking about putting a couple older cast radiators in my shop running off my boiler instead of using forced air. how would I hook these up so they don't cycle all the time? to prevent it from getting to hot in the shop? thanks for any opinions and ideas

chiselchain,

You put a thermostat in line of the pump coming from the Outdoor Wood Furnace. When the building calls for heat your pump would come on and heat the building up again. You might have to run your thermostat differential close to maintain even heat.

You will have to take out the pop off valves on the radiators and put in gate or ball valves to bleed the air out of them or they will air lock.

Hope this helps
