Title: need help with pump selection
Post by: 12valve on July 29, 2014, 08:44:07 AM
I have about a 100' run from my boiler to my indoor boiler, flat ground, 1 inch id pipe, 4 elbows, and I have no idea what I need for a pump.  Can anyone help me out.

I prefer the Grundfoss 26-99 three speed cast Iron, set the speed to your heat load on temp differential!

Thanks Slim.  So start it out slow and if I am noticing a need for more heat in the house turn it up.

You've got it, this is where the temp gauges come in handy on all 4 ports, ideally you can keep temp differentials under but close to 20 degrees across the heat exchanger supply and return under full load.

Slim which 4 ports are you talking about?  ON my system I have one 60 plate heat exchanger that handles all of the heat transfer.

Slim is talking about the 4 port on your 60-plate HX.  So you can moniter Supply and Returns for both Radiant system and OWB ;D
