Title: Ashton Outdoor wood furnace
Post by: Mike.Blount on September 13, 2014, 08:03:22 PM
Has anyone ever heard of Ashton outdoor wood furnaces, The owner is Dale Ashton,  They claim to have been in business since 1971
till 2009 in Ontario Canada, and from 2009 till present in Kawkawlin Michigan.  They have a website, but I think its under construction.
I cannot find any information about them on the web.

ashtonoutdoorwoodfurnace.com/  is the site, the reason im asking is because,  Im looking to buy an OWF Ive been looking at Timberwolf, and Ridgewood.  Then I saw a post on craigslist for a new wood boiler for 3,700 dollars.  But the post had a reply by e-mail only on it.
I e-mailed them 3 times before they replied.
Once they replied,  They called me and the guy was telling me that it was an ashton that had never been installed, and they wood sell it with a heat exchanger, 200 ft of outdoor pex and the installation package all for about 4,400.00.
So I started looking online for info.  But was only able to find there web site which is under construction.
It just seems like if they have been in business for  43 years like they claim,  That there would be tons of info online about them.Doyou all think this is some sort of scam?

That's why I Googled em, if they've been around for that long you'd think a mention of them would be found on other sites like Hearth.com.

Yep would definitely choose a Ridgewood vs. The other made up brand people seem to like the ridgewoods on this site.

This is what I found on the Ashton, looks a lot like the Ridgewood or Hawlken. Don't know much about them.

Hello, my name is Darin Wass. I am the owner of Ashton Outdoor Wood Furnace. Although our company has been around for many years, we are still a small business. Many of our wood stoves are custom built. I took over the company and moved us to Kawkawlin, MI in 2009. Our business has been completely offline until a couple months ago, we just had a website built and we are doing our best to build our presence online. If you would like any information on our products please visit us at http://ashtonoutdoorwoodfurnace.com (http://ashtonoutdoorwoodfurnace.com) or feel free to speak with me directly at 888-415-8575. Our business is located at 2832 Huron Rd, Kawkawlin, MI. Although we are not a huge company, we take pride in amount of time and dedication we are able to put into each product that we produce. We are not a giant chain that pushes out thousands of wood stoves per year, but you will get the 1 on 1 attention with us that you will not find with the bigger companies.

Thank you for your interest in our products and if anyone has any questions or interest please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you.

Darin, Welcome! Out of curiosity, what is your company planning to do with the 2015 ban of conventional outdoor boilers? Are you building a gasser?

Thank you for the welcome everyone! It seems like a very friendly community on here and I'm glad I joined the forum. We are considering building gassers but haven't decided for sure yet. What's the word on other companies? That is a huge blow to our industry.

Some pictures and more easy to find/validate info would do wonders. Much better than any words or editing would do.
