Title: Timing
Post by: coolidge on September 21, 2014, 09:36:02 AM
It's hard to believe that people are getting this years firewood right now, talked to a guy this morning who was cutting some up, he said the ash, beech and white maple are bone dry in log form, looks like it was just cut off the stump to me. Same guy burnt 16 full cord last year, 1600 sqft

His wood is still in log length, but he says it's bone dry.

Hmmm I don't see it unless the wood has been sitting longer than just over the summer.

The guy I was talking to had all his wood in log form, looked like it was just cut off the stump, but said the white maple was bone dry still in log form.

That used to be me....this year is the first season that I actually have all my wood stacked, dry and ready to go.  I think the big difference is that I bought a log splitter last year so I enjoy cutting a little more now.
