Title: Boil-Off
Post by: Buff Studly on October 10, 2014, 01:42:18 PM
I have an Empyre CPW 250 Deluxe II. I have had 3 boil-offs so far this year. I have discovered that the Solenoid on the Rear Draft Blower has been sticking, holding open the damper to the fan, allowing air to freely flow causing the boil-off. I just spoke with the folks over at Pro-Fab the makers, and they informed me that they had a bad batch of solenoids go through last year about the same time I replaced mine. They all had this same sticking problem. He advised me to clean it up, if it has any rust, (which it did not ), and give it a touch a touch of oil . If it continues once more, Replace it.
GOD Bless

Welcome to the site!  I would recommend replacing the solenoid if it has been sticking.  They are fairly cheap and it beats the permanent damage that could be caused by overheating your stove!
