I have approx. 20 pine trees that measure 12-24 inches across. To few for someone to cut down and haul away. I have access to hardwood but was thinking about cutting them up for use in my OWF because I don't want to waste the wood. What would you do?

I had about 40 pine trees in my front yard that had been planted by the previous owner directly under a power line, they were 24"-36" around at the base but the trunk was only about 15' high and then they were a gnarly mess of limbs from being trimmed by the power company every year and they looked hideous. I convinced the power company to cut them down last year. That's what I plan on burning this year, ended up being about 9 cords. Might not produce as much heat as hardwood but I had to do something with them, might as well burn them.

I was approached by the local Pine log buyer a couple weeks ago, he wanted to buy my pine logs if I was to cut some. Pay was $275 per thousand, told him I would burn them for that amount.

Why wouldn't you burn it?
