Gentlemen, went to fire my 2011 E-Classic 2400 up today and found the fan dead. Had plenty of power to it (could hear and feel it). Contacted my dealer (Greene Maine) and went and got a new one. He informed me that the unit needs to be removed and oiled at the end of every season. There are actually little ports where the solenoid meets the fan for oil. A little oil would have saved that $176 part. New fan runs great and she's running fine, for now... Fortunately it is a very easy part to remove and service. So far the only problems I am having are related to moisture, all corrosive in nature. Just a heads up for something I never found in the manual deemed "serviceable".

PFD194 - Welcome to the forum. You'll find some of the most knowledgeable people I know on this site.
Quick question for you; do you know if the E-Classic 2400 and E-Classic 1400 (that's what I have) use the same blower? I presume you are talking about the blower for the primary and secondary air? Where would I find these oil ports on the blower motor? I'm going on my 4th season with the same blower and I have never oiled it. Now I'm wondering if I should take a little time to remove it and oil it if it indeed has oil ports. Thanks, Roger

I'm pretty sure they use different blower units. I'll give you my blower spec's, 115V: Type U21B: 3000RPM: Class B. I stand corrected the blower unit has only one oil port. I would show pictures off my phone if I wasn't so technologically challenged. The only way too see the port is to remove the unit from the boiler, on mine it is directly below the fan port, facing the right side of the boiler. Four nuts and the power disconnect and the unit is free. The port itself is a little hole located at the seam where the solenoid meets the fan. Seems like such a ridiculous thing to keep a $12,000 piece of equipment from running.
Also, last year I hit you guys up about my D.O. problem, see earlier post. It was related to a corroded door sensor. Water is not a wood boilers' friend...

boilerman - thanks for the attachment of the blower showing the oil locations. My manual says nothing about oiling the blower motor - it doesn't show a picture of where the oil ports are located either. In a couple of weeks when I service the unit, I'll take a few minutes to remove it and see if I can find them to oil. If I see nothing, am I correct to assume that they do not need oiling? Perhaps a call to my dealer is in the near future to get clarity. Thanks, Roger
