Title: forced air to baseboard
Post by: akahle on October 28, 2014, 06:08:20 PM
I am currently running a pretty standard set up into my existing forced air furnace. I have a 700 square foot camp connected to the front of my house that is currently not regularly heated. I am thinking about hooking up a couple runs of baseboard radiators to the return side of my system. I would split the return line, and place a pump inline to the radiators. I would tie a thermostat to that pump and place it in the camp. My question is whether or not this sounds like a good idea. I realize I will have colder water going to the stove.

That looks like it should work. Use a pump with internal flow check if you have the connections that far apart.

RSI is right on the spacing, can you get the tees close together, less than 6 inches apart?

I should be able to run the t's as close as needed. Thank you for your help.

As you have the drawing, that heat loop will want to ghost flow, if you truly want to control your heat then keep the tees within 6 inches of each other.
