Title: Chimney draft inducer
Post by: clydem on November 07, 2014, 09:31:37 AM

Would it be possible to add a air line through the stack clean out plug extending up the flue to create a venturi effect and induce a stack draft and negative air flow on the firebox to eliminate the smoke coming out the door during loading.  The air line only be pressurized during loading.
Am I over thinking this?

Much easier to install a manual on off switch for the combustion fan. Throw it on 30 seconds before loading. No more smoke.

That would work if I had a draft blower on the door, It's something for me to think about though.

thanks

I just helped my brother in law install his cb  and it has a blower on it, even when it's burning good and you open the door smoke still comes out the door due to the large baffle at the back of the stove.  It's a little worse then on my stove  but it may be better than on the draft only models but if the fires burning good fan or not in my opinion  that baffle at the back is the main culprit for smoke and there's no bypassing that. But it shows its holding  the heat in the stove not forcing it out the stack.
