What is the absolute latest date the EPA will allow standard owb's to be sold?
-
Yoder seems to have the pulse on this, but I dint think there is a date yet.
-
A local CB dealer told me me when the date becomes official, manufacturers can't make them anymore. But the dealers can still sell what they have.
-
Myunderstanding of it from my contact here at Maine DEP was that the federal law takes effect Jan 15 2014, with the new senate there may be some defunding of EPA that would postpone it but I would not count on that!
-
I think the revised proposal is supposed to come out sometime this month. I think merrell is correct, it will only effect units that are manufactured after a certain date.
-
I was under the impression that there was more info coming out this month as well. I haven't seen anything new lately. But with my decision to try and stop selling my current brand by the first of the year I really haven't been looking too closely.
-
The way I understand, The law was passed in January of this year and will take affect in January of 2015. There will then be a 90 day initiation period, sort of a public notification period, during which dealers can sell out their inventory, and there may be an additional 30 days until they can enforce anything, but I don't guarantee the authenticity of this info.

Don't try to print it; it's 42 pages.
