just went out to furnace after a 12 hr dayshift, usually always leave fan on, however I just shut it off to load, went to turn it on and it wont come on,opened up back, tapped on fan etc... nothing, light is still working. feel like screaming, dayshift in morning, so is it the solenoid ya think....
-
Does the solenoid come on or neither the fan or solenoid working? If it is neither, it is more likely the aquastat.
A stupid question but are you sure it didn't get up to temperature while you were loading it?
-
lol, I wish it came up to temp,5 degrees short, so pissed right now,,,neither seem to be working, both can be hand moved, how do I tell which is done, sol, or aquastat
-
okay that was weird, went back out and reset the aqua and it came on,,,,,thank god....heres what happened the first time, temp is set for 182 12 diff, when I shut it off it was 176,after two mins I turned bac on and it didn't come back on, it should have, first time for this, reset so it had to come on and it did,lol not touching it again till days off, I guess maybe its telling me something and I should get some spare parts before jan and feb hits with -20's....

High limit safety switch? Any chance your boiler over shot and tripped it?

This doesn't help solve your problem but have you tried loading the stove when the fan is on? I would prefer doing it that way personally. Much less smoke in your face that way.

I can (and do) turn my fan on if it is not running when I go out load the furnace, definitely less smoke that way.
