When you find spam on the site please use the "report to moderator" link. It may be in a section we don't check that often.
-
Done, removed the spam and banned the posters to the 7th level of hell.

I may have to contact the owner of the site, but I belong to another site once where your first ten posts had to be approved by a moderator before it would post, after that it was business as usual, I hardly think spammers could come up with 10 intelligible posts to get approved.
-
I seen that ten post thing before also seemed to work well.

I just finished banning no less than 50 bogus Spammer accounts created today alone. The Spam-bots and their programmers really up the spam traffic around the holidays (less chance the moderators are paying attention or are on vacation).
That said, I am looking into upgrading the forum software to a more recent version that has much better filtering of Spammer accounts when a new user registers for an account.
The SPAM issue is always there but Sprinter, mlappin, and Sloppy are indeed watching.
All users are encouraged to please use the "Notify" button at the bottom of a spam post and we will evaluate and delete it as necessary. Thanks for any and all help OWFI.com members!

Okay guys,,, good news. I found a couple ban triggers that seems to be blocking nearly all of the Russian and Denmark-sourced SPAM that has been cropping up lately on the forums.
Unlike the current United States' president, I have officially closed the OWFI.com borders to the country of Russia (it is my sincere hope that this does not anger Vladimir Putin and encourage further returns to the Cold War Era; if it does, well, too bad Vladimir. :P :-* )
Although this Russian Block SPAM ban trigger is in place, I ask that everyone please remain on the lookout for SPAM messages and use the "Report" button on each SPAM post so we can delete and ban as appropriate. ;)
Thanks again everyone for all of the help spotting these SPAM bazturds.
