Title: unseasonably warm
Post by: Jwood on December 14, 2014, 08:57:04 PM
Had to have my sister in law fill the boiler and she filled it full. Checked it when I got home and periodically through the day today and added about 6-8 logs but got 27 hrs before I had to fill it and could have probably gone 30 I'm sure. Heated the basement slab so the basement was at 70-72 and the furnace for the upper level has not come on in 3 days at least.

Can't say that I'm disappointed in the warm temps.  Though I do sell Christmas trees and the people are just not in the mood given the damp grey weather pattern we've been in.  Had a snow storm a couple of weeks ago and I just plowed up a bunch of gravel and grass.  I hope we freeze up before we see any more snow.

Ill take any warmer days we can get in MI.  Sure helps with wood consumption.

Does seem nice to just put 6 to 7 sticks in for a overnight fire. I will take it, but as dwneast said, hope we freeze up soon.

Hasn't been froze hard here in weeks, but it's also been dry enough that things aren't that bad, don't want to head to the woods wit the pickup yet or anything, but the tracked skid steer and my Polaris Ranger don't have any problems at all.

Creosote weather is what I call it. Highs in the 50's, lows in the 40's. Burning 6 or 7 sticks a day and turning the top of the chimney black. Ain't complaining though. Rained all day today, got about 3/4 inch. Tonight the wind has switched to the north and blowing about 20-25 mph. Temps falling to 20's and staying colder all week. We need it to freeze so I don't have to sit in the dozer all winter.
