Hey SlimJim I am still struggling to get my stack temp over 215 deg >:( My temp is set to 190 with a 5 deg diff and high limit of 210 deg. My air box is 4 turns on the bottom and 5 turns on the top. My wood is dry and I have tried hardwood and mixing in pine. I also have a lot of creosote or at least I think so. The heat exchanger has a real fine brownish and grey powder on the shelf if that helps. Any suggestions ? Thanks for all the help on the phone last week.

As long as there is no moisture in the heat exchanger, you are fine! The temp probe may not be accurate.

Thanks SlimJim, it was nice to have to open windows xmas day instead of listen to people bitch the house is cold !!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem with stack temp. My OPT 250 heat exchangers were equipped with those stainless steel blades.
I stopped using them in lower HE. That helped the situation. Also keep that thing clean.
Not to much ashes on the bottom of the fire box.
Ho , ho, ho with wind below ZERO rigth here in NJ Dallas Cowboys and Man United Country  :o >:D
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!Keep the fire burning!!!!! ;D

I guess i'm not sure why you want your stack temperature higher. Mine is around 230 after I clean the tubes and usually around 250 before cleaning.
-
Slimjim said to try to keep it around 260 and clean the boiler around 300 when I bought it.

I can't get mine above 230 when it's clean. As long as no creosote forms in the pipe you should be good.
