I just read that Michigan's Governor Snyder signed Senate Bill 910, now Public Act 417 of 2014. It prohibits the Michigan DEQ from enforcing any new EPA rule restrictions on wood stoves and wood burning appliances. The article states that the owners of Hawken Energy, Z Supply, and Ridgewood Stoves all testified at a hearing on the legislation how the EPA rules would harm their businesses and other small businesses. The article is on http://www.nfib.com/article/?cmsid=65836 (http://www.nfib.com/article/?cmsid=65836)

Great day for Michiganders. Less intrusion from the DEQ and the MSU Spartans come back to win their second strait bowl game

Read the article..Thats great!...Hopefully other states will do what Michigan gov did
-
Sounds great but probably something that will be settled by a court outside of michigan. Federal law trumps state law and everything the EPA gets away with becomes federal law. Total bs!
-
There used to be something called states rights.

There used to be something called states rights.
Used to be, Obamacare added another nail to the coffin on that one.

I just changed the link to the article so it is easier to find.

My state of Minnesota was trying to pass something to nullify anything with the EPA
-
That's great news.. I'm sure the fuel/oil mongrels had a lot to do with it padding congress pockets there afraid they will loose profit some free country

The question is how far is the state willing to go to protect their new law. We all know the federal government loves to, how do you say it, blackmail or extort by threatening to withhold federal dollars in some form or fashion. Even the the Supreme Court just recently ruled they couldn't do that, Medicare expansion, they will try it and the State has to be ready to fight.
-
So true Yotehunter!
-
Our Governor has done wait he has said he would for the last four years. I hope he will for the next four especially regarding this.

If the states didn't send them dollars they won't have anything to blackmail us with.
-
EPA got defunded. Hope they won't be able to fight it.

We will find out today if that spineless POS John BONER gets his seat confirmed, if so I would expect more of the same, if not and he gets replaced, we may have a fighting chance to turn this nation around!

Well no matter who they put in there they have two years to prove they can do something positive. We won't get any real change until they get the presidency. The ideology in this country has moved so far to one side or the other that there isn't much compromise.
