what port do you put the supply top or bottom and why?
-
If it is laying flat (horizontal) in an up flow furnace, I was told the supply goes in the top so that when the air is leaving the HX, it is making contact with the hottest water last....... hope that makes sense.

That would be right!

Of course, like my DWH,, my xchanger in the furnace is a$$ backwards.
Supply comes in the bottom and goes out the top.
House heat is fantastic.
Main level and basement 70 and 69 respectively.
Maybe it does not matter much.???
