So yesterday morning 5am went outside to check on boiler in just my "jammies". Thought it felt rather nice out.Went back inside and looked at the thermometer -12 I guess winter has finally settled in to my bones.

I work and live where many people from across the globe come to learn. When the temps hit 50 degrees F, they complained bitterly of the cold temps. I told them to cheer up, it will get colder, but when it does and the temps get into the 20' or 30's F, it'll feel warm. One of them just this morning made a comment that it's a nice morning and it feels nice to have it warm again; mind you it was 22 degrees F this morning where I live and work in NH. Roger

reminds me of a time in the mid 90's up here ...it was in the -40/50 below stuff for close to 3 weeks ...ice fog was thick enough to taste ... then it all "blew off" clear sunny dammmm nice day ..I could feel the sun on my hands an face ..yea! all WAS well with the world ! ....I get off work and head out to my old 73 chevy to head home ,I grab on to the door handle bare handed = ouch/burn wtf!! .........I did notice the bank sign as I left the parking lot said ............ -33 :o and tee shirts are normal wear above zero :) (http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k632/atvalaska/thCAVZLQ75.jpg)

weeds out the weak pretty quick ,homeless stick to the grate's so their out ! ..one thing is ...over my 30 some years here..folks that leave ...come back ! my theory is that they are chasing some thing that is no more ie: after a while family is gone /spread out from what they remember and that "field after- farm field " is now littered with "want ta be country forks from the city" house's, traffic an...people...
-
10-4 alaska!!
You get used to the cold, and the bugs.
The lack of traffic jams and the fresh air [upwind of boiler] makes rural living worth it.

:) I trust things on 4 legs, more than I do 2, other than my lab sneaking a sock out of the laundry basket, the 4 legged kind don't steal .........
