Right now I pay $150 per full cord delivered about 35 miles to my home.  That price seems crazy to me.  My wood is also green fresh cut hardwood.

The market will get what the market can bare, his customers are the folks who did not plan ahead and are now paying top dollar for the fuel, one of two things will happen, next year they will be prepared or they will not be burning wood and either way he will be hurting for customers.

Local guy gets $200.00/cord for green wood, cut, split and delivered.  My grapple load supplier is to be delivering my 12 to 13 cord load sometime this week for $1600.00.  That's a tic over $130.00/cord.  Granted I have to cut, split and stack it but I consider it part of my wellness program so I really don't mind.  Roger

Roger I agree it is a very good wellness plan. I get 6 chord loads of logs and it is good exercise. were at 100 a chord in log length.

My brother lives in Texas and has started selling firewood on the side.  He gets $300 a cord for fresh cut oak.  Now, he obviously doesn't have customers buying 10 cords and they don't heat their houses like we do, but still.

Roger where do you live? I usually find enough wood, but some day might have to buy. I would prefer to do what you do.

I live in Enfield, NH.  If you're familiar with Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, Enfield is one of the neighboring towns.  The reason I need to buy wood is my property is a 5 acre wide open parcel.  The only trees around is what separates my property from my neighbors property.  Otherwise, I would chop my own firewood if I had a parcel.  Roger

Figure you pay around $80/hour at a mechanics garage,or if you have a plumber come to your house your going to pay around the same.  By the time somebody loads up their saws, goes into the woods, cuts and splits their own product (say prime oak on their own land) loads in to truck, drives it to customers house, unloads it,gas,oil,equipment...I would never buy wood but $300 isn't out of touch to me.  If he's getting $300/cord more power to him.  If he's not getting it then his price will drop.

around my area a "face cord" 1/3 of a cord goes for 60 or 65 delivered but you must buy 3 (a real cord)
so that's about 195 per cord.

I had my dump wagon on and trucking home a load the other day and I stopped in town at the variety store and when I cam out this fellow was looking at my wood and says to me "how much" now my dump wagon is 6.5 feet wide and 10 feet long and I always figure I get about 1 full cord on it so I says back to him 200 bucks cash and I drop it off right now in your lane if you live in town....whoa he says, that's too much..so I says no problem its going home with me..wait he says we can dicker...I says we just did, I asked 200 you said no, we are done..lol got in my truck and brought my wood home

I got real lucky and found a guy on Craigslist that had natural gas ran down his street so he hooked up to it, and sold his boiler. He had 27 face cord of well seasoned oak and ash cut at 22" and split that he sold me at 55.00 a face cord and he even helped my wife and I load it. One of those rare good craigslist buys on firewood.
