I would guess that Heatmore wants you using their own type of water treatment to keep up any warranty that may be left on the furnace. If that isn't an issue I would recommend a water treatment that has been designed for 409 stainless ( the metal used on Heatmore furnaces). Be careful of what kind you use, I have seen some water treatments on the market that are practically worthless. If I were you I would contact a Heatmore dealer to find out what type works best with the furnace. Most furnace companies have had labs design treatment especially for that brand of furnace.

For less than $10 you can use water balancers for hot tubs.....

Treatment size depends on model size.
Call factory for nearest dealer.
200css is 2 gal
400 css is 2.5 gal.
It is expensive but worth it.
Also check the anode rod.
Where are you at?
Whats the size and age.
