Of course these are NOT available in the U.S. yet (I have no idea about Canada), but I can 99% guarantee this will bet one of the new 4-stroke Makita chainsaws my next chainsaw if they ever come to the U.S.

I have the Kombi system from Stihl, a hybrid four stroke that uses the same premix as my Stihl saws. Starts easy, very torquey, definitely heavier than a standard two stroke weedeater.

I have a Makita DCS520i and it is a strong running saw. Just leaks a lot of oil. I just took it apart today and was using a little silicone around the oil supply from the tank and from the pump to the bar. I will definately keep an eye on this four stoker.

First time a few weeks ago I saw a makita chain saw at a pawn shop lol. Didn't know they existed lol

I know that price is not a primary quality indicator but,,,, the Makitas are >Stihl in pricing. :-\

I have a Dolmar 5100s and like it a lot, fast cutting saw.
I see one feature on the MM4, I think is a bad idea. Tool less... chain tensioner, seen some of those on Stihl and not impressed.
It is just not that hard to loosen two nuts and turn a screw... In my humble opinion it is something to break.

I have to agree on the Stihl toolless tensioner, its a POS! I had a 210 with it and traded it off when I got the first chance to do so. No regrets!

I can't believe you guys don't like the toolless chain tensioner. I absolutely love it for a small throw around saw like my 211. I use this saw 90% of the time and I always keep my chain spot on every 15 minutes or twice a tank of gas. I also have a Remington rodeo pro 20" that I cut with for log sizes larger than I can cut with the stihl 211 but too small to have to dull my 36" chain. That saw also uses the old school system and that's fine because I only cut 2 cords a year with that saw. With my 211 cutting 10-15 cords a year I love the toolless system. It' cut 50 cords and had 3 new chains without it "breaking" I wouldn't have it any other way. Now for my 661 I would rather have the stronger system with 2nuts and a crank (wink)

And you didn't buy it? Been looking for a cheep Makita want to put the 84cc big bore kit on one and have a big power saw without the big saw weight. I also have a four stroke Stihl brush cutter\trimmer, it's quiet compared to the 2 stroke and plenty of power.

Just bought a Honda 25cc 4 stroke water pump for work. Pretty cool little guy, starts and runs real good. Only takes .1 quarts of oil. Wonder if Honda would build a chainsaw someday.
