you dont you can change the range and the differential stays the same

Is it a love aquastat? If so you should be able.

What benefit does a smaller or larger differential have? For example, in warmer weather would you want a longer or shorter differential? I never knew I had the option of changing this on my CB 6048 so I never paid attention to these discussion.

Why do u find the need to change the settings? Are your recovery times to long?
