Title: what's better to burn

Short split pieces or just big long logs? seems like I am going through a lot of wood compared to years pasted but it's all small stuff.

I agree that small wood burns up faster. I burn pieces 3 foot long. If to heavy I make into bigger chunks.

It was wood left over from my old wood burner that I needed to get burnt up this year then back to the big stuff :-)

If the wife can't pick up the block of wood, its too BIG for stove, also there is no excuse why she can't load stove  ;D
