Title: Heatmaster G400
Post by: schoppy on February 08, 2015, 10:15:37 PM
Wondering if anyone out there has the G400? My Portage & Main is too small for my load and as long as i may be upgrading I am looking at a gassifier as I always use seasoned wood anyway. Wondering how it works and any problems? Thanks.

Could you give me a couple of weeks, I will be going to the factory on the 17th to get some training and info on the G series units and will give you my honest opinion upon my return. What does P+M say about the sizing of your unit, are you sure it is not the install but instead a simple miscalculation of the heat load?

My load is definitely too large for my unit during cold weather. In addition I don't even have my entire heating load on it yet but will with a new unit.

So far, I am hearing good things about the G series units although they have not sold a lot of them and I think that is because they don't yet have a real presence here in the Northeast, my goal is to change that, we have all the EPA regulations already in place here and have had for the past 5 years. I think they did have some real issues with the early G models but have worked through them from what I have been told by the dealers that are using them, Again I would like to see them and make my own assessment before fully endorsing the units, give me a couple of weeks and I'll let you know what I think. So far I really like what I see and believe in the company!

Oops, sorry guys I guess I lost track of this thread, I got my G 200 running in March and it has been doing very nicely, super easy to run, cleaning is a breeze and I can see that attention to easy maintenance/ repairs has been designed into the G series units.
