Has any one thought of doing this. Will the gasses ignite along the tubes or will the gasses not be hot enough to ignite. I was thinking of cutting slots in the cleanout plate in the back and running the tubes in the upper corners of the exchanger area. Just wondering if it will work. bad thing I will have no way of knowing if its working once I put the plate on there is no way to tell. jason

Maybe I should clarify second burn tubes like in a indoor word stove with all the little holes in the pipes. But im going to but them in the exchanger of the boiler . maybe

Do you mean in the firebox? I know the design you are talking about I think if you are talking about the newer high efficiency woodstoves if so you could sure try it.

I've had the same thought never got around to it though. maybe you could find another piece of steel to run your pipe through then if it doesn't work you could put the original back on.
