Title: Great
Post by: coolidge on February 12, 2015, 05:10:05 PM
Just what I wanted another two feet of snow. Guess I am buying wood again this year. Can't do sh$t in the woods with the three feet we already have. Not much fun stepping of the trail. Going to have to get a lot more deer feed also.

Thats a bummer. I have been fortunate this year. Not much snow and I am cutting on the edge of a field which we keep plowed out.

I'm near JWood and we had tons of snow last year. This year not so much. I've been able to get out to my woods all winter with no issues. Last year was not able to get out there until April.  Could use the moisture for my pastures but still plenty of winter left.  Take it easy out there.

Geography has a lot to do with the amount of snow one gets.  Where I live in NH we've had some snow but not like that of what MattyNH has received.  When he was getting a foot, we got a 1 to 2 inches.  That last storm was by far the most we've received this year; ~10 inches.  He's much closer to the coast, I'm on the western edge of NH away from the coast.

MattyNH - Stay warm - it's supposed to get below zero tonight and a heavy wind.  Tomorrow night you guys will get dumped on again.  I have no idea how much we're supposed to get.  Roger

Weather woman says 12 to 20 for this weekend, with 40 mph winds. Highs in the single digits. Sounds like a Netflix weekend.

Had the same thing last winter, ended up using the tracked skid steer to plow the snow away from the trees that I wanted to drop. That was after spending better than a day plowing a lane to the woods.

Coolidge not sure where you are but By the sounds of it were in the same boat in central maine, I'm on my 2nd ton of deer feed this snow sure is hard on the herd, I'm feeding between 15 and 20 twice a day. Usually I could get down in the swamp and cut a few cedar but with this much snow it ain't happening,

Randy, I am on Dixfield,    Been through a ton this year, found a local guy that is selling oats and corn for $6 for a 50 pound bag. I have been cutting cedar also, if I can get to it. Another storm brewing in Canada for us midweek. Cross your fingers it goes out to sea.   I am ready!

We have been hit hard here, have around two feet with blowing and deep drifts. Can no longer cut, got my truck stuck last weekend trying to make it back yo the bush. I currently have about 8 face cords cut for next year. Hoping to get gutting again in March.  It was -40 here last night with wind chill, crazy cold right now
