With the new regs coming out, what do you think of this?

I have friends with the Fire Chief and US Stove versions of this stove.  They work good, almost too good.  Its hard to keep the house an even temp and you have to load every 4-6 hours when its cold.

Easy to install and no water or pumps to worry about when you leave for over 12 hours.  It just burns out and you start it again when you get back.  Cheap too, price of stove plus about 500 bucks in parts depending on how high you have to go with chimney.

Its a nice option for someone who wants the stove outside but doesn't want to invest 10 g on a boiler with install.

I think it is a case of another small company wanting to sell off stock before the new rules put them out of business! It will still be considered an outdoor wood furnace and therefore will have to pass EPA regs in order to continue, I would not plan on them being around for parts or service in 2 years!

Since they burn coal I was wondering if they would slip through the cracks.

Perhaps temporarily but I would be willing to wager that they will be selling with a target on their heads!!!!

This is probably going to create a new black market outdoor boiler surge.

That goes without saying. You know they will never stop.]

So basically with the regs all of these smaller companies will be gone? That's crazy but in way weeds out the rip offs
