Title: Year to date
Post by: coolidge on February 22, 2015, 06:11:03 PM
Weatherman says this Feb has been the coldest since 1979, average temp of 13 above.

The left will claim it's because of all the global warming.

Anybody hear the crap claiming last summer was the hottest on record? It might have been somewhere, but certainly not here. I don't recall how many growing degree days we were behind for the year but it was impressive. Picked a lot wetter corn than normal that was also light on test weight, even the soybeans ran light on test weight and making hay was a miserable SOB to get it dry. Maybe only went swimming 3 or 4 times last summer and then it wasn't for long as everybody's pools were cold.

It was hotter in some places there were places in Canada I believe that got to 115 Fahrenheit but Minnesota wasn't hotter that's for sure.

Personally, I believe the world works in heating/cooling cycles and we happen to be in a warming cycle; for some but not all.  Here in New England, last summer was cool.  Granted we had some very nice days and a couple of hot days but for the most part it was on the cool side.  This morning on the local news they commented that this is the 2nd coldest February on record.  I wonder if global warming (which they say is caused by the burning of fossil fuels) caused it to be colder in the 1930's?  Roger

You know, several years ago a local meteorologist was the guest speaker at a banquet I attended, I spoke with him after, he admits that the data you find on the web and stated in these studies is wrong. He has several old books listing temps from the Dust Bowl, data you find now lowers the temps during the dust bowl to make it seem hotter now.

Well global warming strikes again, it's -24 in my area of NH this morning.  I'd hate to see what happens when global cooling strikes.  Roger

Like anything else in this world, follow the money. When you're being paid by a certain group to produce stats, you make sure the stats. are favorable so you can keep getting paid to produce more stats. Have you heard the new one "it's climate, not weather"? Yet the first hot day this summer, the media will be telling us it's global warming. :bash: Then when someone comes out with a dissenting opinion, they're labeled a denier or ignorant. I even heard one report saying all the snow in the Northeast this year was because the air is warmer. An excuse for every occasion.

I'm all for respecting and preserving what we have and try to do my part, just spare me the scare tactics and leave my wallet alone.

Booo. I even have a Woods Diesel ZTR with a 61" deck and not ready to start mowing grass. Of course mowing 170 acres of hay 3-5 times a year takes the joy out of mowing the yard in short order.

Orr is still one of the most respected people in the Boston sports scene. I've never heard a bad word spoken of him. I enjoyed Cherry's time as coach and am thankful his fashion never caught on. LOL

I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if this article is right, figure on winters like they used to have in the 50's, one brutal ass winter after another for at least a decade. And no it has nothing to do with the myth of global warming.
