Do you guys think a 6-8" round lasts longer than a 6-8" split piece of oak?

I do think rounds last longer, just because they burn slower than a split, however like in another thread a faster burn isn't bad unless you're boiler can't capture the heat produced by a faster hotter burn.

i agree.u got to capture all the heat.a slow cold burning fire cannot be that useful
