Have you guys tried any of that premixed gas in a can you can get at TSC? No ethanol. Bought some the other day and boy does that stuff make a chain spin. Good for storing the yard equipment for winter too.
-
Nope to expensive just I just use 91 ethanol free right from the pump and stihl oil ( the gray bottle.
-
I do the same thing Mr. Jwood. However, my dad has a much smaller saw that he doesn't' use very often. So, he uses the pre-made stuff. He doesn't have to worry about it gelling or winterizing it.

I found out a while ago not all 91 is ethanol free you can Google ethanol free gas stations in your state and it will list all the stations in your state that carry it. Minnesota does at least and luckily my nearest town has one station that has it
-
I pick up 5 gallons of ethanol free for all my small engines.
-
Those gas in the cans are every where...My neighbor uses them.. I have yet to use them.. I do use high octane my all my power equipment..Theres one gas station in my state that I know of that sells supreme gas that is ethanol free
-
There's a place that sells ethanol free not too far from me. They sell 87 and 93 octane ethanol free. I buy the 93 octane stuff to mix with Pure Polaris 2 cycle oil for my saws, dirt bike, etc. There's a noticeable difference in performance between ethanol free and ethanol laced fuel in the saws and dirt bike and the gas tends to keep a lot longer without the ethanol too.

Supposedly if you use Stihl's synthetic 2 stroke oil it neutralizes the ethanol, or more like the bad effects of ethanol, I do know for awhile if you bought a six pack of their oil they would double your warranty.
-
That's the only oil I use and never had an issue with any of my saws!

My bad, it should have read as, when buying a new stihl product if you buy a six pack of their synthetic oil they will double your warranty on the new purchase.

ethanol = burning food for fuel is just plain wrong

possibly, but it does use up corn and right now the price of corn is getting low enough that its almost at the cost of production, without the ethanol market it would be well below the cost of production.
Personally I think the government should get the hell out of ethanol and farm payments. Nothing in the constitution says they can do either, let the free market work instead.

Government control!

how on one hand can .gov say our kids are going hungry :-X and ...(they really are in other parts of the world)... and burn food ...on the other hand if u had a lot of corn u could eat it OR burn it....NO amount of sauce is going to make oil/gas/or coal ..taste good. :bash:

Thats why the price is dropping on corn, we do have a LOT leftover from last year.
