Title: Motorcycle ride today
Post by: Roger2561 on June 14, 2015, 04:25:58 PM
I think everyone in the country is aware that this is "bike week" in NH this week.  I have no desire to go there.  I don't mind large crowds but I detest heavy traffic and Laconia, NH is where the bike traffic is this week.  So, my younger brother and I decided to go for a motorcycle ride today.  If you are not familiar with the Kancamangus Highway in NH, you are missing a really nice ride.  It's not fast by any stretch, it's too windy for that but the scenery is out of this world.  This is one of the pictures I took when we stopped to stretch our legs a bit.  Oh, we put 190 miles on our bikes today.

The Kank is a beautiful ride on a bike but we used to cut across it in the fall on our way back from Montreal to home base in Ossipee NH with tractor trailers hauling propane tanks, there's no time for pictures then! Glad you had a great ride Roger, stay safe my friend!

Slimjim, My experiences over the years has shown people to be quite respectful of us on the bikes.  Occasionally we'd find a jackass like we did Sunday on the Kank.  He was trying to fit up my tailpipe.  I radio'd my younger bro (he was leading the way) to pull over and let the car pass; obviously he was in more of a hurry than we were.  That guy was the only one who gave us any problem.  One thing time has taught me; if someone is driving something larger than what I'm operating, I let them go first.  I'm in no position to argue with someone in a car while I'm on my bike.

Your right Roger, you did the right thing, some folks are in a big rush everywhere they go, the Kank is no place to be in a rush!
