Title: bamboo for firewood?
Post by: gainerspot on June 16, 2015, 06:51:27 PM
Has anyone ever used bamboo for firewood in their OWB?  When I was slaving away cutting and loading wood, my wife asked me if we could use some bamboo in the OWB.
I told her that we could probable mix it in with some wood and I would ask the guys on here if anyone has any experience with bamboo,  It grows fast, would replenish itself in a short amount of time.

Thoughts???

I wouldn't take the gift of it but if it's in my yard I would rather burn it than to let it grow even if it is burned in a fire pit over a few adult beverages

Sweeps library says it only has 10 million btu per cord.  Probably wouldn't be worth your time to burn in a owb.  I'd be curious of your results though.
