Title: Leak at the union
Post by: slimjim on August 16, 2015, 03:22:38 AM
Some of you may remember the manifold I posted a picture of a few weeks ago, I finished it yesterday and put the pressure to it, we had a leak at the union on the main heat exchanger that didn't get tightened enough but all the sweat joints held 28 pounds of water pressure all night. This manifold has 6 working radiant zones and 2 spares for future use, ( one 3/4 inch  and  one 1 inch ) the one inch I think will be for a future gas wall hung boiler and the 3/4 inch for possible future solar thermal. I hope the pics work, we are pretty happy with the way it came out!

Thanks Coolidge, it should look nice, there is a lot of money sitting there on that wall, it's a complete renovation of the home with two additions, the carpenters expect to be there for another month!

Very nice job Slim.
If there was that much room on every install to work life would be easy.

Now he is talking about a gas wall hung boiler for back up heat.
