Title: Snow Storm!
Post by: jackel440 on February 01, 2011, 02:30:18 PM
Well the rain/sleet started around 1:30 here at Galveston,IN.I got off work in kokomo and my windshield was iced over.Got some gas for the Trailblazer(welder/generator) in case the ice gets bad and we lose power. ::)
Sleet is hammering the house right now.Drive is drifted shut from the snow last night.Didn't stop my Jeep Rubicon this morning though. After dinner here I am going out to the shop, and putting the tracks back on the skidloader.
I do have to say I love snow.Just hate the ice. :bash:

jackel440, I am about as far south of Indy as you are north of it. We just had rain yesterday and a high of 40 last night at 10 pm but it got cold and windy over night. LOL

10" here but roads are shut tight. Bumper high + all across road one way and cab high or better the other. Couldn't plow thru it. Needs maintainer to come thru with V plow.

JackIel440,  I live south of you, straight west of Evansville, IN. about 75 mi. and we lucked out, maintained about 33 untill it stopped raining then the bottom dropped out, down to high teens.  Right now it's snowing and the wind is howling out of the N - NW.  Really wishing I would have just went and bought a factory OWB a month ago instead of starting a quest for materials to build my own, with this wind and temps the geothermal is running alot, today would have been one of those big energy savings days with a OWB.  What is it those Cubs fans always say? "just wait till next year" LOL.

Glad the weather stayed warm for you guys enough so you didn't get all ice.
I think I was the maintainer on our road today!LOL Been out in the skidloader for over 8 hrs cleaning everyone out on my road.We had 4 drifts across our road.Plus the road is covered in ice.Heck I was driving back to the house ,and I slid right off the road into the field :o
Dang metal tracks and an ice covered road don't work together. :bash:
