Title: Supplying Top of Heat Exchanger
Post by: gammachi on January 25, 2016, 10:14:55 AM
It’s my first year running and I seen the other day that I should attach supply to the bottom of the heat exchanger and return on the top.   I plumped both the heat exchanger in my garage and my house with the supply on the top and return on the bottom.  I was think it would be easier on the pump and that’s why I did it that way.  Could someone tell my why and any issues I might have with running this way?

Biggest issue is it could trap air in the exchanger as air wants to rise but will have to sink to be forced out.

If both are working satisfactorily I’m not sure I’d lose any sleep over it.
