Title: Boiler filled again but still runs over 200
Post by: silver star on February 03, 2016, 05:46:58 AM
I topped my water off, and it seems i am still having overheating issues   I have seen the temp at 200 aor a little more at times.
I turned the damper temperature max down to 183, but it is still running hot so etimes. I noticed my oressure cap off again so i had another boil over during the night.
I have cut my wood loading back to 12 hour intervals
Never had an issue till my first boiler over when i left a malfunction damper manually open a few weeks ago.

Any thoughts ?

While it is overheating, check to see if the solenoid is either stuck open from creosote or is it powered open, if it is powered open, it will be either a faulty Aqua Stat or a shorted wire, if neither of these are happening then check for air leakage around door gaskets as well as to tall a chimney that increases draft and pulling fresh air in to the fire box.
