When I turned 50 my doctor set me up for a colonoscopy. Five years ago they found a non-cancerous pollup which was removed immediately but the doctor wanted to see me again in 5 years. Fast forward to today. I had my second colonoscopy this morning and all was clean; they found nothing. I still need to have the procedure every 5 years due to a history of colon cancer on my dads side of the family. I cannot express the importance to all you guys out there who are putting it off; it's no big deal. Heck they put you to sleep during the procedure, you don't feel a thing. The only side effect is the gas that follows. Man, I swear I went air born a couple of time. If I could find a way to bottle it, know I could heat my house for a year with it. Roger

Getting to that age myself. Its been suggested the wife starts screenings now, her Dads been in the VA for colon cancer and his father passed from colon cancer, and her uncle on her moms side is diagnosed with it, again.
