Couple more weeks here, maybe, then I'll start my boiler ;)
-
Weather looking pretty good here in michigan, might be a record for my first startup near November. We will see.. run some small space heaters during the night, as long as the day temps don't drop too low I'm willing to deal with a cooler house for several weeks. Once I load the beast the fire doesn't go out until spring..
-
Was dang near 80 here a few days ago, still hit 75 today, will be a bit yet.
-
Had our first frost here in Western WI.
-
Possible frost Tuesday morning, 75 yesterday, 70 today.
Could change fast.
-
We've had snow at higher elevations for the past month. I fired up our CB5036 Friday. Unfortunately, it's overheating and I've not figure out the issue. The draft is clean and so is the door rope.
-
Fired up yesterday, it was a frosty morning this a.m. and a high around 12 C. It's still a bit early for snow, but another couple weeks will be a different story.
-
Fired mine up tonight for the first time this year. Temperature supposed to be right at freezing so I figured it was time. I'll just be burning pine for a while....saving the better wood for when it is colder. :)
-
Still waiting for the over night 20's. before I light the fire.
-
53 ! At my place yesterday! I've been starting a fire on Fri nite and let her go out on Sunday...just to keep things ..off the cool side ...winter is to come this weekend I here..
-
Supposed to cool of for a few days here then back into the low 70’s next week, no wood fire yet, but may start the waste oil boiler to keep the chill out of the house.
-
I have been idling my G 400 for a few weeks now, my bare feet and boxer shorts at the desk early in the AM like the radiant heat!
-
Warm
-
supposed to hit 80 again here next week.
-
Its 80 in the house right now. :)
-
I am ready to fire mine up but they are calling for three days in the 80's next week heck I might have to use the AC again
-
Fired up the waste oil boiler today, wet dreary day, not really that cold but my back is looking forward to a hot incredibly long shower.
-
I'm still waiting til the overnight temps get in the 20's, it's late this fall, not complaining tho.
-
Our boiler is nicknamed "Buford The Dragon". So we feel it's fitting to wait until Halloween to fire it up. But wife says this cold air coming in , and we might have to light it before.
-
I fired mine up on the 10/21. My wife thinks it's a little weird that every time I come back in from fixing the fire I am smiling. I tell her that the best way to describe the feeling is "satisfaction". She just doesn't understand.
-
She just doesn't understand.
Let it go out, then let her pay the heating bill, understanding will come a lot quicker.
-
we`ve had 4 inchs or so,so far
-
We haven’t even had a killing frost here yet, it better come quick or I may have to mow the stupid grass again.

She'll never get it but we do which is the good thing, the bad thing is that you live with her and not with us but we get you and fully understand the smile and feelings, sure do!

I fired my stove three days ago. Overnights on the 50s thus far although still rather warm during the day. Well, at least I get the beast to exercise for a few weeks and get free hot water from the water heater.
-
I got tired of waiting for those over night temps 20's, way over due this fall, so I threw in the match a few days ago.
-
I fired mine up a couple of weeks ago. The past 3 to 4 days have damp and raw. It's nice to walk into a nice warm house and not hearing the oil furnace run all the time. I'm having a bit of an issue with the oil furnace running when it shouldn't but Slimjim and Handaracer are helping me through the problem. As soon as I get a strap-on aqua-stat, it should take care of he problem. Roger

May have to start heating with wood again, lows in the mid to upper 30’s and low forties and highs barely 60 for the next few weeks, I’m almost out of waste oil as well.
