Title: Cleaning front air duct 2840
Post by: Joks79 on October 13, 2016, 07:05:18 PM
I have some creosote buildup in the air duct at the front of the stove. Anyone have a good way to clean this out?

Have you tried Spraying it down with fuel oil and building a good hot fire?

I guess it depends if you are burning yet. I cleaned mine out each spring with a small drywall tool / scraper blade. You can clean most of it from the ash pan door end. Usually its dry and crusty enough to come out fairly easy.

I did start a fire last night. I will try the fuel oil trick. Thanks!
