Title: She's running
Post by: Roger2561 on October 16, 2016, 04:38:03 AM
Well, yesterday I fired up my CB E-Classic 1400 to begin my 6th season of heating my house and DHW with it.  It's nice not hearing the oil burner running.  The past couple of mornings we've had overnight temps in the upper 20's so it's nice when the heat comes on you don't hear it, you just feel it warming up.  I had mild hiccup this morning though.  When I got out of bed I went to jump in the shower, turned on the water but no hot water.  That's odd, it should be nice and hot.  So, throw on a robe and check on it.  After a quick glance I found the problem, I realized I forgot to turn close the by-pass valve, it was wide open.  Every year when I first fire up the OWB I always by-pass the indirect hot water tank so I can check the entire system for leaks (one never knows).  If I find none, I'll then close the by-pass valve allowing water to flow through the heat exchanger in the indirect hot water tank.  Thankfully my tenant is not out of bed yet so he'll never know what happened.   :)    Roger

Kinda feels good to step on the nice warm floors, and a hot shower knowing your not using fossil fuel.
Come March we will want to be done burning.

Go figure, I fire her up on Saturday and yesterday and for the next couple of days we're supposed get temps in the 70's.  Next week I have the week off from work and the temps are to be in the lower 40's all week.  Gotta love New England weather.    :-\     Roger
