Title: 1" "rigid" pex
Post by: patvetzal on November 19, 2016, 02:48:13 PM
By the time we relocated our OWB and started on the indoor plumbing  I had a couple of 8' pieces of Logstar pipe left so I stripped them to use the 1" pex. I did expect it to be easier to bend than it is however.
If I heat it slightly with an electric heat gun, does it flex easier? Gotta be some secret that the pros use ....

Yes it will but don't over heat it!

Hair dryer works as well and reduces the risk of overheating.

My electrician buddy has a heat blanket that they use to bend conduit that we found bends pex pretty nice when we re-plumbed his house. go slow it you can melt\burn it pretty easy

Worked at it a bit today. About -4C and we found that we had to use a bit of heat just to insert the brass connectors.

A lot easier to bend when it is full of 160 degree water ;)
