Post by: coolidge on January 12, 2017, 12:31:43 PM
Off 2017, 2 beech and 2 oak and it was not a good time. Ground is not froze and it's terrible going with the bota. Had 4 deer standing there watching those trees fall, think there mouthes were watering when I went by. My girls after only one hitch.

I've been thinking of going out to start cutting wood for next year , but ground is not frozen here either. I'm not so worried about making ruts , I'm more worried if I do make a mess and it freezes I won't be able to drive over it.I think I'm going to start felling trees and then see what the weather brings as far as getting them out.

with you on that Al, we were froze up last sunday, even my trail in my normally wet bush was solid. I got most of a years wood down but it has rained and thawed ever since. More warm weather predicted here next week, I am also gonna wait it out for colder weather before cutting

Froze hard as a rock here, used granny gear to fill the feeders the other day, ground is rough as a cob between the cows chewing it up when its mud and the ruts I leave every time it thaws.

I’m gonna fire up the Super 88 in the morning and drag out some more ash I’ve dropped and topped the last few days. About Monday a warmup is starting again, Tuesday is supposed to be 55.
