Title: One got me; the other missed!
Post by: Roger2561 on June 18, 2017, 01:19:44 PM
I can't wait for this weekend to end.  Yesterday I was struck from behind by a young gal (~20ish) who said she didn't notice that I was slowing to make a turn.  My turn signal was flashing and the brakes lights were on.  To her credit she immediately took responsibility for the crash and she echo'd that statement to the police officer.  The bumper took quite a lot of damage and there's some damage to the metal under the bumper too, but the car is still driveable and no one got hurt.  This morning as I was on my was home from church their was car coming right at me in my lane!  I could see that he fixated with his crotch because I could clearly see that he was looking down, not looking at the road.  There must have been something intriguing about his crotch.  Thankfully the shoulder was available and my brakes work good.  I wanted to go for motorcycle ride today but I decided to stay home and not test fate.  I have the rest of the summer to go for a ride.  Roger

Good to hear everyone is all right.

Honestly I can't stand driving anymore, so many hazards on the road now.

I had a kid walk out in front of me the other day, no cross walk, head down looking at phone.

Where I work, everyday we play a game called dodge the students.  It should be an Olympic sport.  It's fascinating to watch them.  As soon as they leave the classroom their noses are immediately in their cell phones, texting away, completely oblivious to the dangers surrounding them.  So to crack down on this problem, the university in their infinite wisdom is trying to implement a new program; no vehicles are allowed to park on campus.  In other words, punish everyone other than the youngsters.  Roger
